The trim material is called versatex; it&#8217;s a plastic material that&#8217;s not cheap but holds up forever (so I&#8217;m told).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1080956.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1024\" src=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1080956-290x220.jpg\" alt=\"P1080956\" width=\"290\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The soffits were done at the same time. They are also made of Versatex. The materials is really bendable so it took several guys to hold it in place while they nail it up.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1080955.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1023\" src=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1080955-290x220.jpg\" alt=\"P1080955\" width=\"290\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Before nailing up the soffit, Ted painted all of the wood black. Then he stapled the soffit screen. The screen covers the vent in the soffit to keep the animals out.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1080949.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1022\" src=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1080949-290x220.jpg\" alt=\"P1080949\" width=\"290\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a close-up view of the soffit. They are up high to keep the ceiling vaulted.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1090069.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1045 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1090069-290x220.jpg\" alt=\"P1090069\" width=\"290\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They keep themselves entertained with my Ridgid music player. See it here hanging from the window with a D-ring.\u00a0Last week they were singing Christmas carols in Spanish. Julie and Mark- this music player has really come in handy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1080974.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1028 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1080974-290x220.jpg\" alt=\"P1080974\" width=\"290\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a>Here are the collar ties on the great room ceiling. I think it&#8217;s quite artistic in addition to structurally important.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1090020.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1030 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/104cliffroadeast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/P1090020-290x220.jpg\" alt=\"P1090020\" width=\"290\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They also had to install hurricane ties in all corners of the house. These things are expensive too and don&#8217;t look like they serve any purpose. All of the &#8220;Tyvek&#8221; words are oriented the same way and the sheets are nicely spaced. Here&#8217;s a view of the front yard after the first storm.
